About our Presenter...
As a young Franciscan, Fr. Dan's greatest dream was to be a missionary among the poor and he knew the Franciscans would open those doors to his vocation. After ordination in 1977 at St. Leonard College in Centerville, OH, he taught religious studies and journalism in Indiana to high school students for seven years. In 1983, Fr. Dan transferred to Cincinnati for parish work and later became pastor of an inner city Detroit parish. He ministered in and around Detroit, MI for over 20 years, directing the Franciscan School of Evangelization at the friars' college in Southfield, MI, teaching on the undergrad and graduate level in Catholic colleges there, directing evangelization ministries for the Archdiocese of Detroit for ten years while preaching and teaching in over 100 parishes. He found his greatest energy when he directed retreats and parish missions throughout the United States and Canada. After 35 years of priestly ordination and nearly 41 years in religious profession, Fr. Dan still holds deep within a desire to bring forth the Gospel spirit to the People of God in many contexts and cultures around the world. Pax et bonum is his Franciscan motto: Peace and every blessing!
